ESSENTIALS OF LIGHT – SHAPE OF LIGHT

In our next Workshop “Essentials of Light: Shape of Light” we offer participants to explore the interface between the artistic and technical aspects of light. Sensitivity is required in the perception/observation and description of light whilst resolve is required for the planning process.

This workshop will include an introduction to the human factors in light/lighting, its perception and the development of a lighting vocabulary.

Together we will make a journey starting with a single ray of light in a dark space progressing to o daylight environment.We aim to create an understanding of the shape of light due to environmental factors that interact with it and how this can produce a design/objets of light.

With the intervention of a local lecturer we want to mix the manufacture of the conceptual design with a relative easy production material, to end up with object that could be exhibit at the ELA fair 2020.

The workshop will enable the participant to analyze and describe lighting situation both aesthetically and technically. You will not only learn about the theoretical background, but also experiment and test your own designs in and installation.
